Fresh Mint Doggie Treats
Freshen your dogs breath with these homemade Fresh Mint Doggie Treats. Made simply with mint and parsley, these mint dog biscuits will have your pup giving out minty fresh kisses in no time.

Fresh Mint Doggie Treats
When it comes to fresh breath, your favorite pup may need some help. Personally, my oldest dog is 15 years old and can knock the paint off a wall with her stinky breath so believe me, making these homemade mint doggie biscuits was at the top of my To-Do list.
When it comes to homemade dog breath fresheners, you want one that is both tasty for your pup but also one that works. It makes those 6am wake up kisses a lot more bearable when you are getting slobbered on smelling of mint vs. last nights dinner.
Why Make Mint Dog Biscuits
Can’t you just go buy a box of mint flavored dog biscuits at the store? Yes, but let me ask this.. do you know what those mint dog chews are made of? Because I sure don’t … so why make DIY dog breath treats instead?
- Natural ingredients – These homemade doggie breath mints are made with curly leaf parsley, mint, green beans, coconut oil, eggs and flour. Nothing else!
- Easy – Seriously, pop the green things in the food processor and you are already half way done with this recipe.
- Inexpensive – Groceries are crazy expensive these days and dog treats are right in that mix. Making these cute little green sticks at home will save you money.
- Healthy – Using natural ingredients to make your puppy breath mints means not only are they something chewy for your dog to snack on but they are adding healthy nutrients while they do.

How Do You Make Mint Dog Treats?
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees and spray a small baking sheet with non-stick spray or add a sheet of parchment paper
- Start by adding mint, parsley and green beans to a small food processor or blender and pulse until they are chopped small. Move them to a large mixing bowl.

- Add egg, flour, water and warm coconut oil to the mixing bowl and stir to combine.

- Scoop mixture onto prepared baking pan and firmly press your mint mixture down evenly until you have a rectangle approximately 1/2 inch tall.

- Using a sharp knife (or pizza cutter!!), score the mix into rectangle sticks or whatever size/shape you want. Don’t cut the mixture all the way through, you are just looking to score it so that it is easy to cut out once your treats are cooked.

- Bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely before serving to you dog.

Expert Tips
- If you want to make these more of a ‘stick’ shape, press your mixture down so that it is about 3/4 of an inch high and cut them in narrow strips.
- I melted my coconut oil up in the microwave for about a minute to melt the oil to a fluid state.
- There are natural additives you can add to make these a more vibrant green color but I wanted to keep thing simple with natural ingredients you can find in any grocery store.
- I was unable to find big quantities of fresh mint in a bundle so i grabbed two of the little one ounce plastic containers of mint.. in case bundles of mint are hard for you to find too.
