Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon xylitol-free peanut butter
  • 1-2 teaspoons dried chamomile see dosage guide below

Oat Flour Note: I usually make my own oat flour by running old-fashioned oats through a mini food processor until fine. You can also use store-bought oat flour, which tends to be much finer in texture. Just keep in mind that packaged oat flour can make the dough slightly drier, so you may need to add a little extra pumpkin puree to get the right consistency.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F and prepare silicone molds or a baking sheet.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine oat flour, pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and dried chamomile.
  • Stir until a thick, scoopable batter forms. It will not be rollable like traditional dough.
  • Spoon mixture into silicone molds and press firmly to fill each cavity.
  • Bake for 18 minutes or until set and lightly firm.
  • Allow treats to cool completely before removing from molds.
  • Store in an airtight container or freeze for longer use.

Notes

Chamomile Dosage Guide (Important)

Use based on dog size:
  • Small dogs: 1 teaspoon dried chamomile
  • Medium dogs: 1–2 teaspoons dried chamomile
  • Large dogs: up to 2 teaspoons dried chamomile
Always start on the lower end if your dog has never had chamomile before.

Tips No One Tells You

  • Silicone molds make portion control easier and cleaner
  • This dough is soft—do not try to roll it like cookie dough
  • Add 1 teaspoon chamomile for small dogs
  • Add up to 2 teaspoons chamomile for medium to large dogs
  • If mixture is too wet, add a small amount of oat flour
  • If too dry, add a small spoon of pumpkin puree
  • Treats firm up more as they cool
  • Freeze extras for thunderstorms, fireworks, travel, or grooming days
  • Consistency matters more than quantity for calming support
