Blueberry Twist Dog Treats are the perfect healthy, homemade treats to spoil your pup with! Made with blueberry, carrots and oats, these baked cookies are packed with wholesome ingredients, incredibly easy to make, and fun for both you and your furry friend.
1cup oat flour or quick oats run through food processor
1/2cuppureed blueberries, frozen or fresh
1/2cupcooked carrots, mashed
1egg
1tablespooncoconut oil, melted
1/4cupunsweetened applesauce
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the carrots: Slice your carrots into small pieces into a microwave safe bowl, add a splash of water, cover and cook 3-5 minutes or until soft. Mash and let cool.
Puree the blueberries: Run the blueberries through a small food processor to puree until smooth.
Mix the ingredients: In a bowl, combine oat flour, applesauce, egg, and melted coconut oil. Stir until a dough forms.
Split the dough: Divide the dough equally into two separate bowls. Add blueberries to one, carrots to the other. Stir each to combine the ingredients.
Shape the cookies: Roll out small strips of each dough (about 6 inches long). Gently twist the two together and finish by twisting the ends so they won't unravel.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cookies are golden and firm.
Cool and serve: Let the treats cool completely before giving them to your pup. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer-lasting treats.
